Feldman Shepherd Promotes JP Faunes to Partner

January 12, 2022

The law firm of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP is pleased to announce that JP Faunes has been named a partner. Faunes primarily represents clients in medical malpractice, birth injury and other catastrophic personal injury cases, but has substantial experience in civil rights and insurance bad faith matters as well. Faunes has helped to recover more than $47 million for his clients since joining Feldman Shepherd in 2016.

After receiving his B.A. in History from Swarthmore College in 2008, Faunes earned his J.D. in 2012 from Temple University Beasley School of Law where he served as a Staff Editor on the Temple Law Review and won accolades in Temple’s renowned Trial Advocacy Program. Eager for courtroom experience, Faunes began his career at the City of Philadelphia Law Department where he earned rapid promotion to the rank of Deputy City Solicitor while litigating countless arbitrations and numerous jury trials to verdict — including a wrongful death matter against lawyers from Feldman Shepherd.

“All it took was a few days of watching JP on trial to recognize how well he fits at our firm. Having now had the benefit of watching JP over the past five years, I admire his thoughtful approach and commitment to his cases. I expect we are just beginning to witness what will be a tremendously successful career that will benefit countless clients as we move forward together in our partnership,” said Feldman Shepherd Co-Managing Shareholder Mark W. Tanner.

“As a young litigator and overmatched opponent, I understood this firm to be comprised of the top trial attorneys in the region and the country. Now having grown up here, I know it is much more. I am honored and humbled to continue to grow my practice with the guidance of lawyers for whom I have such respect and (as importantly) people for whom I have such affection,” said Faunes.

He is also the immediate past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania. Faunes has received numerous awards in his young career, including selection as a “40 Under 40” Honoree by AL DÍA News Media in 2021 and as a “Lawyer on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer in 2019.

Additionally, Faunes volunteers his time with a number of Philadelphia-area nonprofit organizations and equal justice initiatives, including Philadelphia VIP, Eastern District Reentry Court, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
