Ikea designed, manufactured, and marketed millions of dressers that have been recalled because they are unstable and easily tip over, causing serious injuries and deaths to small children. Most of these recalled dressers remain in the homes of consumers throughout the United States. In this class-action lawsuit, plaintiffs contend that all owners of the recalled dressers who have not received a full refund for the purchase price originally paid have suffered harm. These claims are based upon Ikea’s violation of consumer protection laws, its breach of implied warranties, its promise of a full refund for all recalled dressers, and its failure to conduct an effective recall.
The law firms of Feldman Shepherd and Francis Mailman Soumilas, P.C, together with the class representatives, believe strongly in protecting the rights of consumers. If millions of defective and dangerous dressers remain in homes throughout the United States, more children will be injured and killed. We have received reports of persons who have been denied their right to a full refund when they have attempted to return recalled dressers. Such conduct by Ikea is in violation of the terms of the recall and applicable law.
Any person who owns a recalled dresser that was purchased before the date of the recall on June 28, 2016.
