Feldman Shepherd Co-Managing Shareholder Mark W. Tanner, Partner JP Faunes and attorney Zachary Arbitman served as speakers at the Philadelphia Bar Association’s 2022 Bench-Bar & Annual Conference, held September 16-17 at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Feldman Shepherd partner Bethany R. Nikitenko, who serves on the Board of Governors for the Philadelphia Bar Association, was co-chair for the event.
Tanner and Faunes were joined by the Hon. Lisette Shirdan-Harris in presenting a seminar entitled “Trial Team Techniques: How to Be Effective from Any Chair.” The session explored the benefits of a team-oriented practice model by discussing practical, results-driven methods of labor division, tips and timelines for task completion ahead of trial, and effective means of leading or supporting a successful trial team.
Arbitman presented during the session “The False Claims Act: Views from the Bench and Whistleblower, Government, and Defense Counsel.” The session, which was hosted by the association’s Federal Courts Committee, provided a brief overview of the False Claims Act for practitioners unfamiliar with the statute and was followed by a discussion on the status of FCA enforcement.
