Attorneys Mark W. Tanner and Peter M. Newman successfully resolved this hotly contested medical malpractice claim after four days of trial in Philadelphia. In this case, we contended that the anesthesiologist involved in the surgery failed to account properly for the blood the patient lost during the procedure and, consequently, failed to order sufficient blood replacement products. As a result, in the hours that followed the surgery, the patient was unable to compensate for the significant blood loss, resulting in an injury to his brain due to insufficient blood and oxygen reaching the brain. As a result, the patient suffered from permanent memory loss and periods of confusion. Our team called the defendant anesthesiologist as the first witness in the trial, cross-examining him and demonstrating his multiple errors during and following surgery. After several days of trial, the defense agreed to this settlement, which will provide care for our client for the remainder of his life.
