Plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP is pleased to announce that co-founding partner Ezra Wohlgelernter has been elected as Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Under the Association’s bylaws, he will serve as Vice Chancellor in 2024, Chancellor-Elect in 2025 and Chancellor in 2026.
Founded in 1802, the Philadelphia Bar Association is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States. With 12,000 members, its mission is to serve the profession and the public by promoting justice, professional excellence and respect for the rule of law.
A practicing attorney for more than 40 years, Wohlgelernter has served in many leadership positions in legal associations, non-profit organizations, and Jewish educational institutions. He presently serves on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s State Civil Litigation Section Executive Committee and as Co-Chair of the Medical-Legal Committee. From 2014 to 2016, Wohlgelernter served as an investigator for the Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection. When the Association worked to open the courts after COVID-19, he served on a committee of leaders of the plaintiff and defense bars that collaborated with the judiciary to open safely and expeditiously for civil trials.
Wohlgelernter is a past President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as Chair of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers PAC Committee for a Better Tomorrow and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Since 2006, he has been an active member and officer of the SeniorLAW Center, protecting and advocating for indigent seniors in Pennsylvania. In addition, he has provided pro bono representation to indigent clients as a volunteer attorney for Philadelphia VIP.
At Feldman Shepherd, Wohlgelernter maintains a diverse practice portfolio, including a successful history of motor vehicle and truck accident litigation, premises liability claims, medical negligence litigation, and other significant personal injury matters.
“I am honored and excited to serve as Vice Chancellor of the Bar Association. I commit to working tirelessly to advance our legal community’s interests and to promote, preserve, and protect the rule of law. I have supported equal and unfettered access to our legal system throughout my career, and will bring that focus and dedication as a leader of the Philadelphia Bar Association,” said Wohlgelernter.
“Ezra has been my partner and close friend for nearly 40 years,” said Co-Managing Partner Alan M. Feldman, who served as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 2006. “I know that he will provide our legal community with the outstanding leadership and vision that have been hallmarks of his entire career.”
