Philadelphia Personal Injury Law Firm Feldman Shepherd Selected as a U.S. News – Best Lawyers 2011 – 2012 ‘Best Law Firm’

January 3, 2012

Personal injury law firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP has been named a U.S. News — Best Lawyers® 2011 – 2012 “Best Law Firm” by U.S. News & World Report, achieving a Philadelphia Tier 1 ranking in the areas of medical malpractice law and personal injury litigation. Feldman Shepherd is one of only two elite Philadelphia law firms to achieve a first-tier ranking in plaintiffs’ medical malpractice law, and one of only 15 firms listed among Philadelphia’s top tier for plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation.

“For the past 25 years, our trial lawyers have been committed to the zealous representation of medical malpractice and personal injury victims throughout Pennsylvania,” stated Feldman Shepherd Co-Managing Partner Mark W. Tanner. “We are honored to have these efforts recognized by both our clients and our peers, whose input helps to determine the ‘Best Law Firm’ rankings.”

To generate its “Best Law Firm” list, U.S. News & World Report employs a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in each field of practice and the review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. The publication reported that an unprecedented amount of data was collected for the 2011 – 2012 “Best Law Firms” rankings.

In determining the “Best Law Firms” rankings, clients were asked to provide feedback on firm practice groups by addressing expertise, responsiveness, cost-effectiveness, civility and whether they would refer another client to the firm. Lawyers also voted on expertise, responsiveness, cost-effectiveness, whether they would refer a matter to a firm, and additionally, integrity and whether they consider a firm a worthy competitor. A national ballot process in which a geographically diverse group of attorneys listed in Best Lawyers was asked to vote on law firms that have a preeminent national presence was also employed in the rankings methodology. Finally, the rankings incorporated the 3.9 million evaluations of more than 41,000 individual leading lawyers from across the country that were collected in the most recent annual Best Lawyers survey, as well as law firm-provided demographic information and data relevant to the strength of the firm’s practice areas. All of the quantitative and qualitative data was then combined into an overall “Best Law Firms” score for each firm, which was then compared to the scores of other firms in the same metropolitan area.
