Wohlgelernter was elected to the post during the organization’s annual election meeting on June 16.

Wohlgelernter succeeds Joseph L. Messa, Jr. as Vice President of the PTLA, as Messa becomes the organization’s President-Elect.

“I’m honored to have been selected by my peers to serve the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association in such a visible capacity,” said Wohlgelernter. “Serving on the executive committee has given me valuable perspective on the PTLA’s importance to the Philadelphia legal community, and I’m excited to put that insight into practice as Vice President.”

Founded in 1959, it is the longest-running trial lawyer organization in Pennsylvania.

Wohlgelernter previously served as the PTLA’s secretary and editor of PTLA’s newsletter, The Verdict. During his tenure as Editor in Chief, he established an editorial board whose members reflect the diversity of the plaintiff’s bar.

A lawyer with more than 30 years of experience and one of the three founders of Philadelphia-based Feldman Shepherd, Wohlgelernter is a frequent contributor and sought-after speaker for both continuing legal education and community activities. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York and has successfully tried complex cases in each jurisdiction. He concentrates his practice on medical negligence, premises liability, motor vehicle and truck litigation and other significant personal injury claims.

Wohlgelernter is a member of the Pennsylvania and New York Trial Lawyers Associations and an active leader within the Philadelphia Jewish Community. He also serves as Vice Chair of the SeniorLAW Center.
