March 19, 2013

Philadelphia personal injury law firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP has promoted G. Scott Vezina to partner.

Vezina, who joined the firm in December 2011, is an experienced trial lawyer who has handled more than 35 jury and 35 non-jury trials, primarily in medical negligence and general liability. He practices in the area of litigation with an emphasis in medical malpractice, products liability and aviation accidents.

“Scott has a rich breadth of nationwide trial experience in medical negligence and general liability matters that has been an asset to our firm and our clients — especially because he has worked on both the defense and plaintiffs’ side of litigation,” said Feldman Shepherd Co-Managing Partner Mark W. Tanner.

“I am thrilled to be named a partner of Feldman Shepherd,” said Vezina. “It is a privilege to work with this skilled and dedicated group of personal injury lawyers and staff members. We have an exceptional team of legal professionals who are dedicated to the practice of law, representing our clients to the best of our ability, and making a real difference in the lives of people who have been hurt by the negligence of others.”

After earning his Bachelor of Science from the Holy Cross College in 1993, Vezina went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1997. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri and Texas bar associations.

He is formerly of Ratzan Law Group in Miami, Florida. He served as national counsel for CNA Insurance Company in the catastrophic claims unit where he tried cases in California, New York and New Jersey. He also served as an adjunct professor at Regent University School of Law and St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami. From 1997 to 2004, Vezina was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Louisiana.  He is also a private pilot.

Vezina has obtained multi-million dollar verdicts in several cases throughout the U.S., including an $8.8 million verdict on behalf of an individual catastrophically injured due to a misdiagnosed stroke, and a $5.2 million recovery on behalf of a brain injured child. Vezina regularly handles personal injury matters throughout the U.S.

Vezina was selected as an “Up and Comer” Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2008 and 2009. He was also selected as one of “Florida Rising Stars” in Florida Super Lawyers for 2009, 2010 and 2011. He holds an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest ranking available for that legal guide.
