$1.95M Award in New Jersey Premises Liability Case

Attorneys John M. Dodig and Jason A. Daria secured in September 2018 a $1.95 million arbitration award in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden County for Robert Gill, a 56-year-old car salesman who was injured in a McDonald’s restaurant in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Mr. Gill slipped and fell on a wet tile floor caused by rain water leaking in from a skylight. He suffered cervical and lumbar disc injuries, both which required surgery.  The attorneys filed a lawsuit against McDonald’s Corporation, as well as the franchisee, Lartsco, LLC, and Cutting Edge Construction Services, LLC, who was responsible for repair of the leaking skylights. The arbitration panel found Cutting Edge Construction to be 10% liable; Lartsco 70% liable; and plaintiff 20% liable. Subsequent to the arbitration hearing, the defendants paid the full award as rendered by the arbitration panel.
