$2.375 Million Settlement for New Jersey State Trooper killed in a Motor Vehicle Accident in the line of duty

In December of 2017, attorneys John M. Dodig and Jason A. Daria obtained a $2.375 million dollar settlement on behalf of the Estate of New Jersey State Trooper Sean Cullen who was killed on March 7, 2016 in the line of duty after being struck by a motor vehicle. Trooper Cullen (31) was responding to a motor vehicle accident which occurred in the southbound lanes of I295 in West Deptford Township NJ. One of the vehicles involved became engulfed in flames as a result of the crash. After arriving at the scene and parking his vehicle Trooper Cullen attempted to cross the southbound lanes of I295 to get to the vehicle engulfed in flames when he was struck by a southbound motorist who failed to “move over”. Trooper Cullen was flown to Cooper Hospital by helicopter where he died a short time later. Trooper Cullen was engaged at the time of the accident and had two minor sons. Feldman Shepherd attorney Dodig was successful in settling the case not only against the motorist that struck Trooper Cullen but also against the motorist that caused the initial crash which placed Trooper Cullen in harm’s way. The total settlement was $2,375,000.00. The settlement monies will be used to take care of Trooper Cullen’s children’s future needs.
