Patricia Giordano Recognized as One of New Jersey Law Journal’s 2024 ‘Women Attorneys of the Year’

December 2, 2024

Feldman Shepherd is pleased to announce that partner Patricia M. Giordano was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal on its 2024 “Women Attorneys of the Year” list.

The award honors attorneys who made an impact in the profession in the past two years and have left their mark on New Jersey’s legal landscape. Only 15 attorneys were selected for the 2024 honor.

At Feldman Shepherd, Giordano represents children who sustained catastrophic, life-long conditions due to birth and neonatal injuries. Since 2002, when she switched her focus from defending healthcare providers to representing the victims of medical negligence, Giordano has tried a significant number of complex medical malpractice cases to verdict as both first and second chair and has recovered more than $150 million for her clients.

Giordano served as president of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) for the 2023-2024 term and is the sixth female president since the association was founded in the late 1940s. NJAJ is a statewide association of more than 2,600 members in private practice and public service, including attorneys, paralegals, law clerks, law students and law school graduates not yet admitted to the bar. The association is dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s families by working to preserve and strengthen the laws for safer products and workplaces, a cleaner environment and quality healthcare.

In her capacity as NJAJ president, Giordano frequently testified before the New Jersey Legislature, helping to influence legislative policies that protect the rights of New Jersey residents and others injured by another’s conduct.

A strong proponent of Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives, Giordano was appointed by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner in 2018 as the NJAJ representative to the New Jersey Supreme Court Women in the Courts Committee, which is now known as the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Gender in the Courts. She continues to serve on the committee through this day. The committee monitors the nature and extent of systemic gender bias in the court system and makes recommendations to the Supreme Court to help ensure fair treatment of women in the courts.

“It has been my honor and privilege to advocate for justice on behalf of children and families whose lives have been devastated by medical negligence and to provide them with hope for the future. I deeply appreciate the New Jersey Law Journal’s recognition of my work,” said Giordano.

Alan M. Feldman, Co-Managing Partner of Feldman Shepherd, said “Trish’s commitment to justice and fairness, not just for her clients but for everyone impacted by our civil justice system, is an inspiration to all of us.”
