$30M Confidential Settlement in Medical Malpractice Case

Attorneys Mark W. Tanner and James P. Faunes obtained a $30 million confidential settlement in a medical malpractice case that also resulted in a hospital’s agreement to re-examine the role of residents in patient care.

Attorneys John M. Dodig and Jason A. Daria achieved a $4.5 million settlement in a case involving a  mother and three of her children who were struck and killed while lawfully crossing Roosevelt Boulevard while using a crosswalk.

Attorneys John M. Dodig and Jason A. Daria secured a $4 million settlement for a construction laborer who was seriously injured at a job site along the New Jersey Turnpike when a dump truck backed up into him.

Attorneys Carol Nelson Shepherd and Andrew K. Mitnick secured a $3 million settlement for the post-procedure death of a 76-year-old retired woman survived by adult children and her 90-year-old husband.

 

$2M Record-Setting Wrongful Death Settlement in New Hampshire

Attorneys Daniel S. Weinstock, G. Scott Vezina and Carolyn M. Chopko obtained a $2 million settlement for the family of a man who died during sinus surgery.

$800K for Victim of Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect

Attorney Andrew K. Mitnick and Evan Y. Liu, M.D achieved an $800,000 settlement for a 100-year-old nursing home resident in a suburban Philadelphia county for abuse and neglect.

A documentary series by Netflix covering dangerous consumer products in a handful of industries shines a spotlight on a growing epidemic of dresser tip-overs in the U.S.

Episode 3 of “Broken” features in-depth interviews with former Feldman Shepherd clients — Crystal Ellis and Janet McGee — who both lost their 2-year-old sons when an IKEA MALM dresser tipped over in their home. Both moms have worked tirelessly to promote safe design and rigorous testing of dressers to help ensure that no other families experience similar tragedies.

Feldman Shepherd Attorney Evan Liu Helping Victim of Boko Haram Kidnapping Apply for Asylum in the U.S.

Attorney Evan Y. Liu, M.D., is assisting a young Nigerian woman who had previously been kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014 with her asylum application through refugee protection organization HIAS. Since coming to the United States, the woman has learned English, testified before a Congressional committee, earned her GED, and is now in the process of applying to college.

Attorneys Alan M. Feldman, Daniel J. Mann and Edward S. Goldis filed a product liability lawsuit against Chicco U.S.A. on behalf of a 3-month-old Pennsylvania boy who suffocated in a “Napper” accessory that was part of the Chicco Lullaby Dream Portable Playard.

Attorneys Alan M. Feldman and Edward S. Goldis filed a class action lawsuit to address a policy by the City of Chester, Pennsylvania, requiring that all individuals detained and/or placed in custody shall be subject to strip search, many of whom have not appeared before a judge.

Attorney Carol Nelson Shepherd presented on “Contemporary Topics in First Time Medicine Interactions: Primary Care, Urgent Care, ER” at the Pennsylvania Association for Justice’s 2019 Annual Medical Malpractice Seminar on October 24.

 

Attorney John M. Dodig was named a 2020 Top Attorney for Personal Injury by SJ Magazine.

John was recognized on the New Jersey Law Journal’s “Top 20, Personal Injury Awards” list for having one of the largest personal injury recoveries reported by the Law Journal between Aug. 21, 2018 and Aug. 19, 2019.

Attorney Ezra Wohlgelernter served on the host committee for a reception in support of Attorney General Josh Shapiro on  October 17.

 

Attorney Daniel S. Weinstock was honored with the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2019 “Best of the Bar” award.

Attorney James P. Faunes was a guest on the “Who’s Who in Philly Labor” 860 AM radio show.

James was awarded a citation from the Philadelphia City Council in recognition of his selection for PhillyLabor’s Who’s Who in Injury and Injured Workers Advocacy 2019 List.

 

Director of Marketing Danelsy C. Medrano presented at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women on how to build a website in one day on October 2.

Danelsy was also a presenter at Philadelphia Startup Week.
